What is a verification email?

For security reasons, all Eight users need to verify themselves as the genuine holders of their business cards before they can connect or interact with other users.

We verify users by sending an email to the email address on the card.  

Users need to click the link in the email to verify that they are the person on the card and that the card is genuine.

When scanning a card, the name, company and email address are read automatically. At this stage, we allow people to edit the email address (in case the software has made a mistake). However, anybody who edits their email address will not be verified until our staff have reviewed the email to ensure it is the same as written on the card.

All other digitization is done manually by our staff, who keep an eye out for any suspicious users.
